The Iran of today faces immense challenges, from severe water shortages to massive human rights abuses and increasing unemployment and poverty. But Iranians have proven capable of overcoming these challenges in the past and thriving despite setbacks. New Iran’s mission is to examine and explain the Iran of today while advocating for and shaping a new and better Iran of the future.
Women are the leaders of change in Iran. The women’s freedom movement is one of the most incredible and unique of its kind in the world. The future of Iran cannot be shaped or determined without the leadership and guidance of the women’s freedom movement. New Iran works to make the voice of Iranian women heard in Washington, D.C.
Iran’s environment and resources have been exploited for the interests of the regime’s ruling elite. Iran faces enormous environmental challenges, including massive water shortages that have resulted in the mass migration of millions of Iranians from water starved towns and villages. The regime’s corruption and mismanagement of the environment threatens Iran’s existence as a nation state and has contributed to growing violence within Iran and throughout the region. New solutions for resolving the environmental crisis are urgently needed.
Foreign & Defense Policy
The Islamic Republic has isolated and devastated Iran through its foreign adventures, support for terrorism, and the exploitation of the Iranian people for the regime’s narrow ideological goals. But Iranians want their nation to reassume its role as a member of the global community. New Iran’s goal is to formulate new foreign and defense policies that not only serve the national interests of Iranians but contribute to regional and global peace and security.
Art & Culture
The Iranian people’s contributions to world civilization and culture are indisputable. Iran has produced some of the world’s greatest poets, architects, and philosophers. New Iran seeks to revive understanding of and appreciation for Iranian culture and reintroduce Iran’s wondrous civilization to American and global audiences.
Iran is potentially one of the wealthiest nations on earth. Not only does it possess enormous natural resources but has one the best educated and innovative populations. Indeed, Iran’s young and ambitious work force is its greatest resource. Tragically, the Islamic Republic’s systematic corruption and mismanagement have resulted in mass unemployment, inflation, and poverty. But Iranians are not destined to lead lives of penury; a free Iran has the potential to pursue long term sustainable development which could place it among the world’s top economies.
